LANSING —Sen. Mike Kowall, R-White Lake, (left) joined Gov. Rick Snyder on May 1 as Senate Bill 778 was signed into law. Sponsored by Kowall, the new law clarifies that the end of a public road next to an inland lake or stream can be limited to only one seasonal dock authorized by the local unit of government. Violators of Public Act 56 of 2012 will be guilty of a misdemeanor that is punishable by a fine of $500.
